About Us

A few years ago, when working for another Estate Agent, I was out valuing a house for a client when we got onto the subject of marketing. He turned round and said “well, it doesn’t really matter because all Estate Agents are the same”.

I considered this statement for some while and it became the catalyst for me to set up Alistair Redhouse Estate Agents because I felt there were better alternative ways of professionally selling properties, particularly with the use of the latest technology.

With a team of like-minded property professionals I set about creating an agency that utilised and embraced modern technology and systems to deliver an efficient, time saving, highly personal and considered service to our customers.

Our opening in the spring of 2012 was believed by some to be a risky move due to the difficulties the housing market was experiencing at that time. But far from struggling we survived and thrived.

We put our heart and soul into everything ensuring that our marketing, communications and perseverance are second to none. We grew to where we are today not through a corporate size budget but through recommendation by word of mouth.

Meet Our Team

Alistair has been an estate agent for since 1999: As a junior negotiator with a corporate agency he consistently won “sales agent of the month”. He moved to a local independent as their Sales Manager and gained experience of working off his own initiative. Alistair has always believed in hard work which is why he frequently sells properties other agents have failed to sell. Alistair enjoys sailing and 5 a side football in his rare spare time.

Robert joined the company following university and soon showed an aptitude for the business. He has worked his way up to Head of Sales and has a dynamic and driven approach to property sales. Robert is recently married, lives locally and can be seen in various drama productions in the region. He takes his professional development very seriously, regularly completing sales related courses.

Richard started his career in the property industry in 2011 and has valuable experience in all areas of residential lettings as well as property maintenance and sales. As head of lettings, Richard makes it his priority to ensure that both landlords and tenants are provided with the best level of service. Outside of work, Richard has a passion for motorsport and cycling.

Carole, Alistair’s mother, takes on responsibility for the back office side of things and is the contact when it comes to accounts matters. Carole has always been passionate about property and the need to offer an excellent, transparent service. Her hobbies include dog agility and amateur dramatics.

Kaine joined the company following a successful career as a logistics coordinator for a London firm. His passion for dealing with people drew him to the Estate Agency industry and with his strong customer service skills he thrives on exceeding expectations. Kaine to his professional knowledge to the next level by qualifying to associate level with the Guild of Property Professionals. Kaine is a keen golfer and is regularly playing in his spare time.

Ben joined the company in 2019 as a fresh face for our lettings department. Taking a leap into the land of lettings from the world of fiction and publishing, Ben brings a different perspective to an ever-changing business. If Ben is not dancing across a keyboard conjuring up a new adventure for his readership, you will find him enthusiastically helping his fellow colleagues and customers.

Jonathan joined us in 2020 to grow our business in West Oxford and is usually based in our Botley office, where his experience of the local property market and a calm and friendly approach to the job is appreciated by both buyers and sellers alike. Having covered most areas of Oxford, including Kidlington, Headington and Cowley, Jonathan deals with a very wide range of properties in all sectors of the market. “The greatest pleasure of this job”, he says, “is helping people to find the perfect house for them”. His own love of property began when he took on the renovation of a 16th century farm house in Shropshire, and since then he has particularly enjoyed working with clients and developers who seek out and restore old buildings, or who find opportunities to build new ones. Jonathan brings over thirty years of experience gained in business, and believes that establishing trust is the most important part of what we do. “As agents, we’re always there to represent our clients’ interests to the best of our ability, but selling a house can sometimes be quite stressful, for buyers as well as sellers. I think it’s possible to help both sides with patient, friendly, professional advice, so that by the end of the process everyone is satisfied”.

Anna is part of the lettings team. Her customer service background has provided her with valuable skills that she uses daily in letting negotiations. Her passion working with people made her join the lettings industry. During her spare time Anna can be found exercising or reading books.

Rebecca has a background in property and marketing. Before joining AR she has been running a Home Staging company helping Vendors, Developers and Landlords present their properties in the best possible way in order to appeal to the target market and enable clients to sell or rent their properties quickly and for the best price. Rebecca, in her spare time, enjoys walking, cycling and pilates as well as a good chat about current affairs.

Tara joined the company following a previous experience working within the housing market and social media marketing. Her keen interest in property allows her to set high expectations for herself and have a high work ethic. Living locally, Tara knows the area well and loves to communicate and help people on a daily basis. When out of the office you will find Tara spending quality time with her family and friends and exploring new towns and cities on long weekends away.

Adam has a wealth of experience in the letting sector, having worked with a number of Oxford based firms. He set up our lettings division in 2014 and since has moved away from the property management side of the business focusing on property maintenance for the firm. Adam set up in 2022 and does property maintenance work independently of Alistair Redhouse too.
